The ESCINE research group has collaborated with the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences, Filmoteca Española, Cineteca Madrid and Wikipedia Spain. In addition, its prominent member, Luis Deltell, created the short En la ciudad perdida (In the Lost City), - a documentary about the city of Madrid as it appears in Spanish films from the fifties which was a candidate for the Spanish Academy’s Goya Awards in 2010. He is Associate Professor at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where he teaches Film Direction. His field of research is the history of the image, cinema and analysis of new technologies in information sciences and social networks. He has published diverse articles on Wikipedia and digital communication. He is co-director of the ESCINE research group, based at the Complutense, and dedicated to film studies. He has been a visiting scholar at Stanford University and the University of California at Berkeley. He has directed several documentaries and audiovisual productions, the latest being Un diálogo circunstancial (2019), co-directed with Isidoro Valcárcel Medina.

Lecturer in the Department of Applied Communications, Faculty of Information Sciences, at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, he holds a PhD in Information Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Communication from the same university. He is also a professor of Photography there and driving force and organizer of CONFOCO (International Congress of Contemporary Photography), held annually since 2015. In the area of research, he focuses on gender studies through analysis of audiovisual representations. The bulk of his work centers on analysis of the media image of different social collectives, with special emphasis on the study of film and television portrayals of the LGBTIQ+ collectives.

Interim Lecturer at the School of Information Sciences, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Department of Applied Communication, she is a specialist in Radio Broadcasting and in Fiction Sound Script. She has carried out a research stay at the Sorbonne (Paris-IV) and directed the CONFOCA (International Congress of Contemporary Photography) in 2018, 2019 and 2020. She has published articles in journals and coordinated the monograph on Sound Fiction in the review Área Abierta. In addition, she has collaborated in books on cinema, and is editor of the collection volume Algo que ver. 8 ensayos sobre la imagen fotográfica y cinematográfica.

She holds a PhD in Audiovisual Communication from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2011) and a Bachelor’s degree in Dramatic Arts from the Royal School of Dramatic Art of Madrid (1999). She is a professor in the Faculty of Information Sciences, in the Audiovisual Communication and Advertising undergraduate programs, the Master’s in Gender Perspective in Cultural Industries, and the Master’s in Audiovisual Communication for the Digital Age in the Faculty of Information Sciences. A member of the MDCS (Dialectic Mediation in Social Communication) research group and the ESCINE (Film Studies) research group, she is author of academic publications and monographic collections, including the noteworthy: Tono, un humorista de la vanguardia (Renacimiento, 2019) and Técnicas Eficaces de Comunicación (Síntesis, 2020).
